Navet in Bergsjön is a non-profit organization for the residents and civil society in Bergsjön. Navet aims to be a resource center and an open meeting place for the exercise of democracy, culture, and personal education.
Bergsjön is a district in Gothenburg with a rich cultural and association life, where local engagement, entrepreneurial drives, and community are at the center. At the same time, the area is characterized by increasing socioeconomic gaps that require greater collaboration between the non-profit sector, engaged citizens, the public sector, and businesses to create equal conditions and increased participation in society. Navet in Bergsjön plays an important role in that work. The association also works a lot with cultural issues and the opportunities for the residents of Bergsjön to influence matters concerning the area and their ability to organize.
Since 2018, the association has undergone an exciting restart and expanded its activities by developing initiatives aimed at, among others, young people from the area and local entrepreneurs. The association has gone from having only volunteer forces to today having 6 full-time and part-time employees and running many different projects and activities.
We are now looking for a communicator who can join our team and be responsible for building and driving Navet's internal and external communication work.
About the position
As a communicator, you have overall responsibility for Navet's communication, both strategically and operationally. You build structures, create content, and ensure that Navet's voice is clear, present, and anchored in the local community.
We are looking for someone who enjoys a broad role where you can work both strategically and operationally, and who can prioritize between different communication needs in a developing organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop strategic communication plans
- Maintain the website (WordPress)
- Writing texts in Swedish and English, including newsletters
- Responsible for social media (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok)
- Responsible for physical communication (print materials, signage, branded clothing)
- Documentation (basic photography and filming of activities)
- Graphic design of digital and printable materials
- GDPR management
- Press management
- Develop graphic profile
Requirements
- Relevant education and/or several years of experience in communication work
- Experience working in the non-profit sector
- Experience working with local engagement/community issues and participation
- Experience working in and with projects
- Excellent written communication skills in Swedish and English
- Digital competence – able to create content for social media and master relevant tools
- Visually or artistically inclined
Meritorious
- Experience working or living in a socioeconomically disadvantaged area
- Proficiency in languages other than Swedish and English
- Norm-critical competence and ability to work inclusively in communication
- Understanding of racism and discriminatory structures and/or experience in anti-racist work
Employment form
The position is a fixed-term employment at 75% for 8 months with the possibility of extension. We apply goal-oriented working hours. Work in the evenings and weekends may occur.
Start date immediately.
